Researchers have looked at a little-understood type of cell death called ferroptosis. They found ferroptosis occurs in tumor cells and plays a role in cancer immunity, suggesting the potential of targeting this pathway to improve immunotherapy treatments. from Health & Medicine News -- ScienceDaily http://bit.ly/2Lka6wC
In a new study, scientists in pathology and anatomical sciences have revealed a three-dimensional view of the skeletal muscles responsible for flight in a European starling. The study will form the basis of future research on the bird's wishbone, which is supported by these particular muscles and is hypothesized to bend during flight. from Health & Medicine News -- ScienceDaily http://bit.ly/2Lg1pU1
In a first of its kind study, researchers have used cellular resolution in vivo two-photon calcium imaging in mice to investigate changes in the local repertoire of neuronal micro states during anesthesia. The team found that anesthesia disrupts the number of neural patterns by reducing both network micro states and neuronal ensembles in the cortex, and confirmed their findings in micro electrode array recordings from two human subjects. from Health & Medicine News -- ScienceDaily http://bit.ly/2IRLZTX
